Plot Synopsis

Holly Hunter stars as Grace Hanadarko, a tormented, fast-living Oklahoma City police detective who, despite being and expert in solving crimes, takes self-destruction to new heights. She drinks too much, sleeps with wrong men and delights in defying authority. Grace reaches a turning point one night after she accidentally hits a pedestrian and prays for help. She gets it in the form of an unconventional ''last chance'' angel who works to get her on the right path. Grace, a non-believer, turns out to be a tough assignment for the heavenly messenger.
