Plot Synopsis

Created by Felipe Braga, SAMANTHA! is a half-hour comedy series that centers on Samantha, a child star of the '80s, who clings to the fringes of celebrity with hilarious harebrained schemes to launch herself back into the spotlight. The series opens with Samantha's ex Dodoi returning from prison and trying to prove he's a responsible parent -- but she realizes her career could benefit from his homecoming. Samantha and Dodoi shoot a beer commercial together, but the script's storyline proves challenging for both of them in different ways. Then, Samantha guest-stars as a judge on a singing competition show, and Dodoi unknowingly hooks up with social media celebrity Laila. On Friday, July 6, 2018 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT, Netflix released all seven episodes of Season 1.

The seven-episode second season of SAMANTHA! premiered on Friday, April 19, 2019 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT, as Netflix released the entire season. The season opens with Samantha's ex-bandmates adapting a tell-all book about her into a movie that publicly denounces her as immature -- and she sets out to prove them wrong, inspired to try and be a better actress and parent. But forgoing revenge proves difficult. Then, Dodoi spends the day trying to please his mother. Samantha decides to take a break from the media as Tico and Porky cast an actress to play her.
