Plot Synopsis

In this re-imagining of the 1990s series of the same name, RUGRATS is a half-hour animated comedy series that follows a group of adventurous babies as they discover the big world around them. Lead by Tommy Pickles, this toddler crew explores the world from their pint-sized and wildly imaginative perspective. E.G. Daily (Tommy), Nancy Cartwright (Chuckie), Cheryl Chase (Angelica), Cree Summer (Susie) and Kath Soucie (Phil and Lil) reprise their iconic roles from the original series. In the 45-minute series opener, "Second Time Around," Tommy leads the babies on a daring adventure to help Chuckie after Chuckie's big attempt to be brave goes horribly wrong. Paramount+ dropped the first five episodes of RUGRATS on Thursday, May 27, 2021. After a 4.5-month break, RUGRATS returned with seven new episodes on Thursday, October 7, 2021 on Paramount+. In the mid-season debut, "No License to Drive; I Dream of Duffy," Angelica needs the babies' help adjusting to life without her Cynthia car when her car privileges are taken away. Tommy and his friends must keep Angelica under control when she discovers a way to get any toy she asks for. RUGRATS made its linear television debut on Friday, August 20, 2021 at 8pm ET/PT on Nickelodeon.

Season 2 of RUGRATS debuted on Friday, April 14, 2023, as Paramount+ released the first 13 episodes of the new season. In the second season, the babies are back and ready to take on the world with their pint-sized perspectives and a diapie full of snacks. New episodes follow Tommy, Chuckie, Angelica, Susie, Phil and Lil as they cross the frozen tundra, discover the treasures of ancient babies and go on the greatest adventure of all: meeting Tommy's new brother! Returning to the playpen is Tommy's beloved little brother, Dil, voiced by Tara Strong who is reprising her role in this new series. Also joining the series this season are guest stars Yvette Nicole Brown as Miss Mellie, the friendly and silly tour guide at re-created Old West town Tot Springs; Wendie Malick as Judith, Charlotte's glamorous yet often condescending mother; Sarah Niles as Nanny Pip, a proficient and encouraging robotic nanny who watches Angelica; and Alia Shawkat as Trish, Betty's new girlfriend who is eager to make friends with everyone.
