Plot Synopsis

Hosted by legendary Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood, THE RONNIE WOOD SHOW gives viewers a unique look into Wood's award-winning radio show, taking a behind-the-scenes look in the studio as he plays the songs that inspired him, shares stories from his prolific career, and sits down for interviews and intimate jam sessions with some of rock's biggest names. THE RONNIE WOOD SHOW had its U.S. premiere on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at 8pm ET/5pm PT on AXS TV. The season kicks off with a special hour-long premiere event on July 11, which finds Wood joined by rock superstar Sir Paul McCartney, who reminisces about his unparalleled legacy before performing an impressive set list of songs that both powered his career and impacted his life. During the insightful interview, Woods and McCartney talked about these early influences in their life like Chuck Berry's poetic "Little Queenie," Marvin Gaye's "Hitch Hike," The Beach Boys "God Only Knows," which is McCartney's favorite song by the California band. Other notable guests include shock rock pioneer Alice Cooper, who talks about the Detroit rock scene and shares a humorous anecdote about a stage stunt gone wrong (July 18 at 8pE); Wood's Faces bandmate Ian McLagan, who reflects on the band's '70s heyday, and touches on the newly reunited act's future plans following their smash hit world tour (July 18 at 8:30pE); Guns N' Roses axeman Slash, who talks about his lifelong love of music and passion for the guitar (July 25 at 8pE); and Stereophonics frontman Kelly Jones, who reveals the meaning behind the hit track "A Thousand Trees" (July 25 at 8:30pE). Then, the season continues with acclaimed DJ and producer Mark Ronson, who opens up about working with the late Amy Winehouse (August 1 at 8pE); Primal Scream frontman Bobby Gillespie, who recalls meeting Wood at a party at Kate Moss' house (August 1 at 8:30pE); Mick Hucknall, Wood's Faces bandmate, who talks about sharing a flat with Jimi Hendrix and being chased around by Janis Joplin (August 8 at 8pE); guitarist Steve Cropper, who reminisces about writing "(Sittin' On) The Dock Of The Bay" with Otis Redding and crafting the trademark "Soul Man" riff (August 8 at 8:30pE); author, model, and Wood's old flame, Pattie Boyd, who famously inspired the Eric Clapton staple "Layla" (August 15 at 8pE); and Wood's dear friend Toots Hibbert, who engages in a lively jam session, discusses his career in Jamaica, and shares anecdotes about Bob Marley (August 15 at 8:30pE).

On Wednesday, August 15, 2018 from 8-9pm ET/5-6pm PT, AXS TV premiered the season finale of THE RONNIE WOOD SHOW, debuting back-to-back episodes:

Pattie Boyd (8pm ET/5pm PT): Ronnie Wood welcomes old flame Pattie Boyd. In the early Seventies when Ronnie had a brief fling with Pattie, the former Mary Quant model's marriage to George Harrison was crumbling and they went on to split the following year. A decade later, she married Eric Clapton, who had been in love with her for years and written his 1970 song "Layla" about her. Here, she and Wood look back at the wild years of the 1960s and the 70s, while listening to some of their favorite and most nostalgic hits.

Toots (8:30pm ET/5:30pm PT): The old friends kick things off with a little improvised jamming session before Ronnie chooses his first track, "Monkey Man," one of Toots' own from 1969. The pair may hail from different musical backgrounds but here in the studio it is clear that they share one thing in common: when they're playing and listening to music, it's all about having fun.
