Plot Synopsis

RODS N' WHEELS is a one-hour reality series that follows friends Billy Derian Sr. and Steve Reck, as they run Da Rod Shop in Southern California, where they fix up and restore vintage cars and hot rods. While Billy and Steve don't always see eye-to-eye, they rely on each other's strengths. Billy, the mover and shaker, acts as the salesman and is a true entrepreneur who has tried his hands in just about everything, including a little show business, but his first passion is cars. While Steve is the genius mechanic, who can literally fix anything on wheels and is fine working at his own pace and doing favors for friends. Rounding out the shop are a bunch of ragtag employees that include: Shane, Steve's son, who is allergic to grease and is obsessed with cleanliness, wearing rubber gloves and incessantly washing his hands; Billy Jr., the 20-year-old son of Billy, who decided to change career paths and turned in his real-estate license for a chance to work in the shop with his Dad; Mike, the lead mechanic, who is known to school the others on what it takes to fix up just about any car; Jeff, a great mechanic, who is more concerned with his good looks and picking up chicks; and Art, the 3-foot 5-inch suspension mehanic, who uses his size to his advantage by finishing tight jobs in half the time it takes a regular-sized person. Each 60-minute episode of this series typically features the crew transforming two vehicles, including: a '32 Ford 3 Window; a 1968 Camaro; a '29 Model A; a '67 Skylark; a '56 Chevy pick up; a '59 Volkswagen; a '63 Falcon Spirit; a '67 Mustang; and a '71 Chevelle. Discovery aired a sneak-peek episode of this series on Monday, January 27, 2014 at 10pm ET/PT, one week before the official series premiere on Monday, February 3, 2014 at 9pm ET/PT on Discovery.
