Plot Synopsis

ROCK THIS BOAT: NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK follows die-hard NKOTB fans -- also known as Blockheads -- as they embark on a week-long cruise on the high seas for their vacation of a lifetime. For the past five years, NKOTB has sold out its concert cruises, and for the first time ever, cameras follow the free-spirited voyage of a few select groups of super fans. Production began on June 5, 2014, as 3,000 sea voyagers left New York Pier 90 for a cruise from NYC to Bermuda. Fans were filmed at all hours, rocking out to NKOTB live performances and participating in the cruise's many theme nights: The Masquerade Ball, Cowboy Up! Party, Night at the Movies and The GPS United Nations Party. Multiple groups of fans are featured during the series, including: a pair of Seattle-based sisters with a room back home devoted to their NKOTB memorabilia and who vow to do anything to get close to the band while on the cruise; an over-the-top Ohio mother leaving her husband and kids behind for some wild fun in the sun; an excited bride-to-be boarding the cruise with both her fiance and bridesmaids in tow with the hopes of having her dream wedding officiated by Donnie Wahlberg; and a group of kilt-wearing Scotsmen who are looking forward to setting sail with a boat full of women. NKOTB band member Donnie Wahlberg is an executive producer of this series. On Monday, November 24, 2014 at 8pm ET/PT, TVGN premiered the "Meet the Castaways" special, just seven weeks before the series bows on the newly-renamed Pop network on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at 8pm ET/PT. This half-hour special looked at devoted New Kids on the Block fans who went on a cruise with the boy band, including: a bride-to-be; two memorabilia-collecting sisters; an energetic wife and mother; and a group of Scotsmen looking to meet women. Season 2 of ROCK THIS BOAT: NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK (NKOTB) premiered on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 from 8:30-9:30pm ET/PT on Pop. All five members of NKOTB -- Donnie, Joey, Danny, Jordan and Jonathan -- will once again jump on-board their wildly popular, sold out fan cruise which set sail from Miami to Grand Turk, Bahamas. "We are excited for Season 2 of ROCK THIS BOAT, which will shine a light on our band's amazing, unsurpassed relationship with our fans -- the best fans in the history of music," said Donnie Wahlberg. "We are also excited to show the millions of fans who cannot attend our cruises just how awesome the NKOTB and Blockhead relationship is, as we turn the cameras around on ourselves this time!" The season opens as 3,000 fans embark on their fantasy cruise to Grand Turk with pop superstars New Kids on the Block. As the band pulls out all the stops to make this cruise the best one ever, five groups of passengers reveal the dreams they hope will be fulfilled while on the ship.

On Wednesday, July 27, 2016 from 8-9pm ET/PT, Pop premiered the Season 2 finale of ROCK THIS BOAT: NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK. In the one-hour season ender, "Surprise at Sea; Rock 'Til We Dock," Melissa's friends don't know whether Jordan will jump out of the cake at her surprise party; Augie enlists Johnny's help to get Jess a special moment with Donnie; the New Kids prepare to go out with a bang on the last night of the cruise.
