Plot Synopsis
Based on Kyle Stegina and Josh Lehrman's animated short of the same name, ROCK PAPER SCISSORS is a half-hour animated comedy series that follows a trio of best friends and roommates -- Rock, Paper and Scissors -- who lovingly compete over everything in hilarious but mostly wildly absurd ways. Rock is the member of the trio with the biggest heart and moral compass; Paper is the wannabe intellectual who dreams of being a famous inventor; and Scissors acts overly confident and always wants to be cool. In this series, the trio go to extremes playing hide-and-seek around the world, running from the birthday police, defending the world from an alien invasion, going head-to-head with the Rat Bros, and more.
On Monday, February 5, 2024 at 7:30pm ET/PT, Nickelodeon premiered "Lights, Camera, Rock, Paper, Scissors!," a half-hour animated special that takes an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the trio's new show.
Then, on Super Bowl Sunday (February 11, 2024), immediately following "Super Bowl LVIII Live from Bikini Bottom," Nickelodeon's Super Bowl coverage, the cable channel debuts a sneak peek of the series at 10pm ET, previewing the segments titled "The Fart Joke Debate" (10pm ET) and "The First Lou Episode" (10:15pm ET). In the first episode, to get their landlord to lower their rent, the trio tries to help him achieve his impossible dream. Then, in the second installment, when Rock, Scissors and Pencil learn that Paper dislikes fart jokes, they search for one that'll make him laugh.
The series officially premieres on Monday, February 12 at 5:30pm ET/PT on Nickelodeon, with a half-hour episode titled "Scissors Gets a Job." When Scissors runs out of money, he tries to become a janitor but discovers that the job involves way more skill than he initially thought. Meanwhile, Rock and Paper try to motivate Scissors in an unusual way.
