Plot Synopsis

Based on an original script by husband and wife writing team Rebecca Boss and Chris Masi, RIDE is a multigenerational family drama series that follows the lives of the McMurrays, part of a rodeo dynasty going back a generation, as they struggle to keep their beloved ranch afloat. After a tragic loss, each character embarks on an empowering journey of transformation and self-discovery while also uncovering a twisted web of secrets, threatening to tear the family and their small Colorado town apart at the seams.

Isabel McMurray is the matriarch of this small-town ranching family going back a generation. After losing her husband years ago, she has resiliently kept the ranch afloat and singlehandedly raised their three sons: illustrious champion Austin, servicemember Cash, and ever-dependable Tuff. Over the years, the family has grown to include Austin's talented wife Missy and Valeria, a one-time runaway the family had taken in. One day, just as Cash returns home, tragedy strikes, leaving Missy a widow, the family grieving and leading Valeria to leave town without a word. A year later, as the McMurrays continue to grieve, the fate of their ranch is uncertain. Cash, who has spent a lifetime in his brother's shadow, considers stepping into his shoes to save it -- a decision complicated by Cash's long simmering feelings for Missy. Missy struggles with her place in the family without Austin and considers new opportunities, while Isabel who has faced more than her fair share of loss, struggles with putting Cash at risk, even if it means losing her life's work. Then Valeria reappears with more secrets than answers and the family faces an opportunity that could decide the fate of the ranch.

RIDE made its broadcast television debut on Monday, January 22, 2024 at 8pm ET/PT on The CW. In the season opener, "Legend of the Fall," the McMurray family prepares to compete in the Boulder Rocky Mountain Rodeo, but when tragedy strikes, this dynastic ranching family is left reeling. One year later, the McMurrays must confront the fractures in their family and the potential loss of their beloved family ranch. Isabel must decide if she can support her son Cash as he takes up the family bull riding mantel. Missy is faced with a new opportunity and must decide where her heart truly lies. And when a long lost friend returns, the McMurrays must ask themselves how far they are willing to go to keep their found family together.
