Plot Synopsis
Fifteen years after the world went dark and electricity stopped working, a group of post-apocalyptic survivors investigate the mysterious event while reclaiming their future. The day planes fell from the sky, hospitals shut down, and communication was impossible, the world regressed to a pre-industrial revolution lifestyle: families began living in quiet cul-de-sacs, and when the sun goes down lanterns and candles are lit. But all is not quite right -- nobody has been able to explain why modern technology just stopped and danger lurks on the fringes of small farming communities. In one town, where a local militia arrives and kills a young woman's father, she and two unlikely companions head off on a daring, coming-of-age journey to learn the truth -- but unbeknownst to her, her father had something to do with the blackout. When Danny was kidnapped by a powerful militia for a darker purpose, Charlie tracked down her estranged Uncle Miles, a former militia member himself, to help find her brother. Together, with a rogue band of survivors including Aaron and Nora, they crossed the country, eventually rescuing Danny -- as well as discovering Charlie and Danny's presumed dead mother, Rachel Matheson, a scientist with inside knowledge of the power outage who was also being held by the militia. Now, newly reinforced, Charlie, Miles, Aaron and Rachel set out to overthrow the militia led by the ruthless Monroe and his brutal enforcer, Major Tom Neville, and ultimately re-establish the United States of America. All the while, they explore the enduring mystery of why the power failed, and finally making the treacherous journey to the Tower, where they turned on the power. REVOLUTION returned for its second season at a new day and time: Wednesdays at 8pm ET/PT, starting on September 25, 2013. In the Season 2 opener, picking up with the conclusion of the previous season, Miles, Aaron, and Rachel found themselves in a mysterious small town, in the great nation of Texas, where Rachel unexpectedly encountered an important figure from her past. Charlie found herself on a mission in the Plains Nation while Neville and Jason searched a refugee camp for a lost loved one. Meanwhile, Monroe discovered a gritty role in his new environment.
