Plot Synopsis
Forrest MacNeil goes through life reviewing every experience that his audience suggests, dealing with the unintended consequences as he explores subjects like: the adrenaline rush of stealing, the dangers of drug addiction, the perils of prom, the joys of sleeping with a celebrity, and much more. In each half-hour episode of REVIEW, Forrest's studio assistant, AJ, presents emails, texts, tweets, and videos from three different viewers soliciting reviews. After each request, Forrest presents a video showing his multiple attempts to complete the task at hand, followed by a short, in-studio commentary and his overall rating, based on a five-star scale. Because Forrest is usually out answering life's most challenging questions, his work comes at the expense of his family: wife Suzanne, son Eric, and father-in-law Jack. Guest stars for Season 1 include Lance Bass, Andy Blitz, Rich Fulcher, Jason Mantzoukas, Emo Phillips, Andy Richter, Maria Thayer, and Ashley Tisdale. REVIEW returned for its second season on Thursday, July 30, 2015 at 10pm ET/PT on Comedy Central. Season 2 finds Forrest once again eschewing the boring subjects like film, food or art and heading straight for the tough subjects like bare-knuckle brawling, joining the mile high club, and even leading a cult. As always, he approaches these challenges with unwavering commitment, regardless of the personal consequences -- but this season he introduces the Veto Booth, intended to keep things from getting out of control once again. In the season opener, featuring guest star Allison Tolman, Forrest gets into a fight with a stranger, blackmails his new girlfriend and discovers the pleasures of a glory hole. The third and final season of REVIEW premiered on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at 10pm ET/PT on Comedy Central. Forrest returns recharged and enthusiastic after surviving a potentially fatal bridge fall with his producer Grant. Unfortunately for everyone, his faith in the importance of his work is stronger than ever. In the season opener, Forrest accepts a challenge from a Mexican restaurant chain's marketing department, searches for a pet to put to sleep and lives one of his dreams. Then, in the season's second episode, Forrest swaps roles with A.J., tries to live like Helen Keller and visits Suzanne to review forgiveness.
