Plot Synopsis

A group of men and women try to avoid elimination while competing against each other in mental and physical challenges on a remote island, as they vie for the $100,000 grand prize. Host Steve Austin and Season 4 co-host Jessie James Decker guide each group through challenges that celebrate its strengths and limitations, with teammates sending one competitor packing at the end of each episode. Season 1 featured 12 contestants, while Season 2, which premiered on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at 9pm ET, included 14 contestants. The third season of REDNECK ISLAND, which featured 15 people, premiered immediately following the CMT MUSIC AWARDS, on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at 10:30pm ET/PT, before moving to its regular timeslot on Saturdays at 9pm ET/PT. On Thursday, December 4, 2014 from 10-11:30pm ET/PT, CMT premiered the 10-episode fourth season on REDNECK ISLAND with a new co-host, country singer/songwriter and TV personality Jessie James Decker, tucked away at a lake in North Georgia. This season, 12 guys and 12 girls fight to win cold hard cash in the ultimate redneck competition series where time spent partying is just as important as time spent competing. While these rednecks may arrive single and ready to mingle, a high-stakes, sexy spin on the original format pairs male and female teammates up as bunkmates in a new twist. In the end, one guy/gal team will walk away from this little redneck heaven $100,000 richer. The all-new REDNECK ISLAND cast includes 24 contestants from across the south, including such states as Alabama, Texas, South Carolina, North Carolina, Louisiana, Georgia, Kentucky and Missisippi. REDNECK ISLAND returned for a fifth season with a special "Battle At The Lake" edition, premiering Thursday, January 28, 2016 at 10pm ET/PT on CMT. TV personality Melissa Rycroft joins wrestling icon Steve Austin to preside over 10 new episodes of the series, as 24 contestants compete for the $100,000 cash prize. Things heat up quickly on the lake, as 12 new contestants arrive to find they'll face off against 12 returning fan-favorites from the previous season. Returning for another shot at the money are Becky, Bradley, Cody, Heather, Hunter, Jorden, Josh, Lucas, Margaret, Nicole, Riley and Tessa. Alliances form early and relationships will be put to the test as the 12 seasoned veterans must face off against 12 eager new rookies ready to give the veterans a run for their money: Bo, Brittney, Caleb, Connar, Deidre, Dustin, Dutch, Gary, Katie, Kayla, Shane and Tuff. In the 90-minute season opener, "The Battle Begins," the players dive into the competition at the first challenge, as they fight it out to claim victory.

On Thursday, March 31, 2016 at 10pm ET/PT, CMT premiered the Season 5 finale of REDNECK ISLAND. In the season ender, "The Final Battle," with everything on the line, the final three teams must push themselves harder than ever as they compete in an epic final race.
