Plot Synopsis
Based on Blake Nelson's young adult novel of the same name, RECOVERY ROAD is a one-hour drama series that focuses on a teenage girl dealing with addiction. Maddie has a reputation as a party girl who doesn't think she has a problem, until she's confronted one day by her school guidance counselor Cynthia Molina, and is forced to choose between expulsion and rehab. Maddie makes the difficult decision to live with other recovering addicts at a sober living facility called Springtime Meadows, but she's determined to keep it all a secret from her peers as she continues her regular high school routine by day. Early in her time at the center, Maddie blows off her Springtime Meadows curfew to hang out with her friends, but finds herself in an awkward position when she runs into Wes and Rebecca. Struggling to keep her double life a secret, Maddie is tempted when her friends continue their partying ways and make fun of Rebecca for her sobriety. From December 18, 2015 through the series premiere on linear television on Monday, January 25, 2016 at 9pm ET/PT on Freeform, the first three episodes of RECOVERY ROAD were made available on digital platforms on the WATCH ABC Family app, Hulu, and Video on Demand. In addition, the premiere episode, "Blackout," was available as a free digital download on iTunes, Amazon Video, and Google Play.
