Plot Synopsis

Using re-enactments and interviews with criminals, cops, investigators and journalists, REAL VICE MIAMI tells stories about drug deals gone bad, murders for hire, and vendettas that reached their breaking point. Crimes include: the deadliest shootout in FBI history, for which FBI agents John Hanlon and Gil Orrantia and journalist Sofia Santana reveal details about why two FBI agents, Michael Platt and William Matix, killed two agents and wounded five more; a drug bust gone wrong which killed one of Miami's most respected police officers, as told by Freddy Andrade, the Colombian who sets up the deal; Tom Hunker, the head narcotics cop who sets up the bust; and Jon O'Neill, a newspaper reporter in Miami; the infamous River Cops who were busted in the mystery thriller of 1980's Miami, retold by three key investigators -- Alex Alvarez, Jorge Plasencia and Al Singleton -- and Miami journalist Mo Fitzgibbon; and many more high-stakes crimes sweeping the Sunshine State's southern-most city.
