Plot Synopsis
Based on Norse mythology re-imagined with modern-day themes, RAGNAROK is a one-hour series that revolves around the inhabitants the fictitious Norwegian town of Edda, who are perhaps not all who they claim to be. With a drastically changing world -- melting poles, warm winters, violent downpours -- some might say they're headed for yet another Ragnarok. It'll take a legend to battle an old evil, and someone must intervene in time to prevent the End Times. Returning to his family's hometown, awkward teenager Magne discovers he has the powers of Thor. Still, the hamlet's natural beauty cloaks dark secrets. Magne and his classmates try to regroup after a tragic loss, while the police seem uninterested in getting to the truth. Gry stumbles on Vidar unmasked. The break-in confirms what Magne suspects: He must take matters into his own hands. After tying up loose ends, the Jutuls put the teen to the test. On Friday, January 31, 2020 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT, Netflix released all six episodes of RAGNAROK.
The entire six-episode second season of RAGNAROK dropped on Thursday, May 27, 2021 on Netflix. Mythical chaos looms as Magne looks for help in his continuing fight against giant foes and deals with an unmanageable brother with godlike powers. In the season opener, "Brothers in Arms," a battle ends with a bang -- and an ominous promise of violence. After visiting another realm, Magne hunts for allies while Vidar marshals his forces.
