Plot Synopsis

From 2002-2006 and each year since 2013, Radio Disney has hosted the RADIO DISNEY MUSIC AWARDS (RDMAs), celebrating kids and families' favorite music and featuring musical performances by nominees and other fan favorites. Winners are selected by Radio Disney listeners, who vote on a range of categories, including: "She's the One - Best Female Artist"; "They're the One - Best Group"; "So FANtastic - Fiercest Fans"; "That's My Jam - Best Song To Rock Out To With Your BFF"; and many more. Plus, the awards show honors kids from across the country with the "Heroes For Change" award in recognition of their efforts to make a difference in their communities. Through 2013, the RDMAs were broadcast as a series of interstitials on Disney Channel, including 2013 when the cable channel showcased performances and winner highlights, airing nightly beginning at 8pm ET/PT during "RDMA Weekend" (May 10-12). Since 2014, the RDMAs have been broadcast as a standalone special.

The 2019 event, now called ARDYS: A RADIO DISNEY MUSIC CELEBRATION, was hosted by Sofia Carson on Sunday, June 16, 2019 in a live telecast at 8pm ET (live)/PT (tape) from the CBS Radford Studios in Studio City, CA. The ARDYs celebrate the biggest and rising stars in music, television and movies and create an event designed to inspire and entertain today's families. The 2019 ARDYS feature performances by BTS, Fetty Wap, Steve Aoki, Andy Grammer, Meg Donnelly, and Tori Kelly.
