Plot Synopsis
Rachael Ray and Guy Fieri coach and mentor eight celebrity contestants, as they compete against each other in elimination culinary challenges with the last remaining celebrity winning $50,000 for the charity they support. At the end of each 60-minute episode, Rachael and Guy pick the bottom two competitors to go head to head in a sudden-death elimination challenge with one celebrity going home. In the first episode, Rachael and Guy select their teams, who go head-to-head in a series of challenges. In Season 1, the chefs participated in these competitions: cooking an individual dish for 150 people at a food festival; creating four desserts, including one with a secret savory ingredient, to be judged by 13 pastry students and instructors from a professional culinary institute; competing in one-on-one CHOPPED battles, with Alex Guarnaschelli, Marcus Samuelsson, and Scott Conant picking the winners of each challenge; operating street lunch carts, with each team serving over 100 NYC pedestrians who filled out comment cards; catering a family style meal for Rachael and Guy with their closest friends and family attending, eating and judging; and opening up their very own restaurant for hungry guests including Tim and Nina Zagat, who provide their Zagat rating for each establishment. Season 2, which premiered on Sunday, January 6, 2013 at 9pm ET/PT, opened with a competition where both teams cooked a prix fixe tasting menu at a Los Angeles dinner theater, as well as performing a three-minute skit for 100 theater goers and guest judges, including writers from "Entertainment Weekly."

Season 3 premiered on Monday, January 6, 2014 at 9pm ET/PT on Food Network with eight new celebrities: Jake Pavelka, Judy Gold, Penn Jillette and Florence Henderson on Team Rachael; and Vanilla Ice, Chris Kattan, Tiffany and Herschel Walker on Team Guy. In the third-season opener, Rachael and Guy were joined by a special guest, Chef Lee Anne Wong, who helped judge the eight celebrity contestants after they spent 90 minutes preparing a Medieval Feast and then performing for a stadium full of hungry spectators.
