Plot Synopsis

RACE ACROSS THE WORLD is a competition reality series that follows five teams of two, as they embark on an epic and adrenaline-fueled adventure, traveling into the unknown without the trappings of modern life. In Season 1, five pairs set off on a race from London to Singapore without taking a single flight. They leave behind their smartphones, internet access and credit cards, and have only the cash equivalent of a one-way airfare to Singapore, the furthest destination by land and rail from the UK, to pay for the entire journey. Season 1 had its U.S. debut on Monday, January 4, 2021 on discovery+, the same day the streaming service launched.

Season 2 of RACE ACROSS THE WORLD had its U.S. debut on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 on discovery+, as the streaming service released the entire nine-episode season, which includes all eight episodes of the race and the reunion show. In the second season, five new pairs set off from Mexico City -- a gargantuan metropolis and the largest Spanish speaking city in the world -- in a race to reach the most southerly city in the world, Ushuaia in Argentina. The first checkpoint is Copan Ruinas in Honduras.
