Plot Synopsis

QUARTER TON TEEN is a two-hour docuseries that follows teenagers struggling with severe obesity on a multi-year journey as they fight for healthier lives. Knowing they face uncertain futures unless they lose weight, these teens pursue weight-loss surgery in hopes of a second chance. Told in part with their own personal footage, the series documents their determination for a better life and the challenging journey to get healthy that will test them in ways they don't expect.

The series opener, "Breia Jenae," focuses on Breia, who, due to constant bullying about her size at school, mostly keeps to herself and avoids trying to make friends. She spends all her time with her mom, and the only thing she wants to do is eat. Now, with her 13-year-old daughter weighing over 400lbs, her mom feels that she must take drastic steps to help her get healthy until an unexpected tragedy makes Breia uncertain that she can continue on her weight loss journey.
