Plot Synopsis
Based on the '90s comic book franchise of the same name and developed for television by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, PREACHER is a supernatural and darkly comic drama that follows a West Texas Preacher named Jesse Custer, who -- along with his badass ex-girlfriend, Tulip; and a drunk, Irish vampire named Cassidy -- sets out on a mission to, literally, find God...and ask him to explain himself. Jesse is inhabited by a mysterious entity that causes him to develop a highly unusual power, and while on his journey with Tulip and Cassidy, the trio are thrust into a crazy world populated by a cast of characters from Heaven, Hell and everywhere in between. PREACHER premieres on Sunday, May 22, 2016 at 10pm ET/PT, immediately following the mid-season finale of FEAR THE WALKING DEAD. That episode will encore twice over Memorial Day Weekend on Sunday, May 29 from 9-11pm, and new episodes resume Sunday, June 5 at 9pm.
PREACHER returned for Season 2 on Sunday, June 25, 2017 at 10pm ET/PT on AMC, moving to its regular timeslot -- Mondays at 10pm -- the following night on June 26. The expanded second season, consisting of 13 episodes, is a genre-bending thrill ride that follows West Texas preacher Jesse Custer, his badass ex-girlfriend Tulip and an Irish vampire named Cassidy as they embark on a road trip to find God and are thrust into a twisted battle spanning Heaven, Hell and everywhere in between. New additions to the cast: Noah Taylor, Pip Torrens, Julie Ann Emery, Malcolm Barrett, Justin Prentice and Ronald Guttman. In the season opener, "On the Road," Jesse, Tulip and Cassidy begin the search to find God; the trio realize that a killer cowboy from Hell is following them.
AMC premiered the 10-episode third season of PREACHER on Sunday, June 24, 2018 at 10pm ET/PT. In Season 3, Jesse Custer's quest for God takes him back to the place he's been avoiding his whole life: home. Jesse, Tulip, and Cassidy return to Angelville, the Louisiana Plantation where Jesse was raised, and find old grudges and deadly obligations await them. With the help of his friends -- and a few enemies -- Jesse will need to escape his past...because the future of the world depends on it. New series regulars include Betty Buckley and Colin Cunningham. Plus, Jeremy Childs, Liz McGreever, Jonny Coyne Adam Croasdell and Prema Cruz are recurring guest stars. In the season opener, "Angelville," Jesse and Cassidy take Tulip to Jesse's family home, Angelville; Jesse reunites with family.
The fourth and final season of PREACHER premiered on Sunday, August 4, 2019 from 9-11pm ET/PT on AMC. As the series inches closer to the finale, God's endgame for the universe begins to click into place. Trapped between heavenly prophecies, hellish prisons, and all-out nuclear war, Jesse, Tulip, and Cassidy make their bloody way to the Most High. Whether they can reach God in time - or whether all this carnage is part of His divine plan - will soon be revealed as Preacher barrels towards the end of the world. Following the two-hour Season 4 premiere, a new episode debuts each Sunday at 10pm ET/PT on AMC.
