Plot Synopsis
Based on the "Powers" comic book series, POWERS is a one-hour drama series that follows the lives of two homicide detectives, Christian Walker and Deena Pilgrim, who are assigned to investigate cases involving people with superhuman abilities, referred to as Powers. Set in modern-day Los Angeles amidst a paparazzi culture, this series asks questions like: What if the world was full of superheroes who aren't actually heroic at all? What if all that power was just one more excuse for mischief, mayhem, murder, and endorsement deals? Enter the men and women of the Powers Division, the brave people in charge of protecting humans and keeping the peace over commercialized, god-like men and women who glide through the sky imposing their power over the mortals who both worship and fear them. The moody yet charismatic Det. Walker was once a Superstar amongst the Powers elite -- until his powers were stolen in a violent battle with his former mentor turned mass killer, Wolfe. Now, he's a detective in the Powers Division, using his singular expertise to investigate crimes while desperately trying to regain his powers and former glory. His partner, Det. Pilgrim, is a wunderkind detective with edgy style and new to the Powers Division. The daughter of a legendary lawman, she combines tremendous instincts and an eye for detail with an ability to bring down perps twice her size. The Powers include: the harming and deadly Johnny Royalle, who owns a cutting edge underground venue, the Here and Gone Club, that may be part of a dark and deadly conspiracy; the dark and dangerous Wolfe, who has spent the last two decades incarcerated in the high security Powers Division prison known as "The Shaft"; Retro Girl, the undisputed superstar of the Powers community, whose willingness to put herself at risk for the good of others is matched only by her ability to manage her globe-spanning personal brand; Calista, a teenage Power wannabe with street smarts, attitude and vulnerability, who do almost anything to further her futile yearning; and Zora -- a young, extremely powerful star in the making -- who can manipulate light to forceful effect. Sony released the first three episodes on Playstation.com on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 (with the first episode available for free), with each of the seven subsequent episodes debuting on a weekly basis afterwards. On Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT, PlayStation Network released the first three episodes of Season 2 of POWERS, with subsequent episodes scheduled to be released each Tuesday for seven more weeks. According to Executive Producer Brian Michael Bendis, "the new season tells the story of Detective Christian Walker's obsession with solving the murder of beloved hero, Retro Girl, with the help of his partner Deena Pilgrim. We focused on what fans loved about Season 1 and amped up the visual effects, cinematography, and stunts so Season 2 is going to be louder, faster and more electrifying than anything you've seen from us before." Michael Madsen, Tricia Helfer, Enrico Colantoni, and Wil Wheaton join the cast for the 10-episode second season, which is available for free to PlayStation Plus members who are 18 years and older.

PlayStation Network released the Season 2 finale of POWERS on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT. In the season ender, "Legacy," Powers Division tries to contain SuperShock by using "Ghost" as bait, but it goes horribly wrong. Walker discovers that Retro Girl withheld pivotal information from him, forcing him to decide whether or not he's ready to be a hero even if he's no longer a Power.
