Plot Synopsis

In 2015 the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) launched THE PLAYERS' AWARDS, an annual event that highlights awards voted on by NBA players, while featuring musical performances. Award categories include: Best Rookie; Best Defender; Global Impact Player; Clutch Performer; Coach You Most Want to Play For; Hardest to Guard; Best Home Court Advantage; Player You Secretly Wish Was on Your Team; and Most Valuable Player. The inaugural event, hosted by Jay Pharoah and taped on Sunday, July 19, 2015 at the Penn & Teller Theater in the Rio Las Vegas Hotel and Casino, was broadcast two days later by BET and Centric on Tuesday, July 21 from 8-10pm ET/PT as a two-hour special, featuring performances by Lil Wayne, Kid Ink, Fifth Harmony, Monica, 2 Chainz and Jason Derulo. Celebrity presenters include Jalen Rose, Naturi Naughton, and more.
