Plot Synopsis

In 1963 Chicago at The Playboy Club, mob bosses, politicians and lawyers come to play at the first of Hugh Hefner's swanky nightspots, where working-class Playboy bunnies compete to be recognized and serve the city's elite. Maureen and Janie are young up-and-coming bunnies, while Carol Lynne is a 30-something bombshell singer and established star who knows her Bunny days are nearly done. Nick Dalton is a lawyer and a regular at the club, where Max tends bar, Billy is the general manager, and Brenda is trying to become the first black Playmate to work there. Bunny Alice takes care of everyone but herself, and while married, is hiding a huge secret from everyone. Pearl is the club's seamstress who's been there since day one and knows more about what it takes to survive than anyone. And survival is an important skill after Maureen, the stunning and innocent new Bunny at the club, accidentally kills the patriarch of the Bianchi crime family. Exteriors were filmed near the original Playboy Club at 116 E. Walton in Chicago.
