Plot Synopsis

Since 1975, THE PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARDS have annually honored outstanding achievements in film, television and music by letting America vote for their favorites in multiple categories. The Awards relied on the results of Gallup Polls until 2005 when it switched to online voting, where it received a record 230,000,000+ votes on PeoplesChoice.com, the official People's Choice Awards Facebook app, and Twitter. For the 39th Annual Awards in 2013, Sandra Bullock was honored with the first-ever award for "Favorite Humanitarian" for her generous philanthropic efforts throughout her career, specifically her ongoing commitment to Warren Easton High School in New Orleans following the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. Subsequent winners of the Humanitarian Award include Jennifer Hudson (2014), Ben Affleck (2015), Ellen DeGeneres (2016), and Tyler Perry (2017). Melissa McCarthy was the inaugural recipient of "The People's Icon" award in 2018, followed by Jennifer Aniston (2019), Jennifer Lopez (2020), and Halle Berry (2021). Victoria Beckham earned the inaugural "Fashion Icon Award" in 2018, and in later years the program honored Gwen Stefani (2019), Tracee Ellis Ross (2020), and Kim Kardashian (2021). The "People's Champion Award" -- which was created to celebrate people across country taking action against hate, discrimination and bias -- was first awarded to Bryan Stevenson, civil rights icon and founder of Equal Justice Initiative, in 2018. P!NK earned the honor in 2019, followed by Tyler Perry (2020), Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson (2021), and Lizzo (2022). The inaugural "Music Icon Award" was given to Christina Aguilera in 2021, followed by Shania Twain (2022).

Hosted by Simu Liu, the 2024 PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARDS -- which honors fan favorites in movies, music, television and digital -- airs live from Barker Hanger in Santa Monica, CA on Sunday, February 18, 2024 from 8-10pm ET (live)/PT (tape) on NBC and E! and streams live on Peaock. This year, the E! PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARDS confers these honors:

"Music Icon" Award": Lenny Kravitz
