Plot Synopsis
This scripted drama series takes place in 1919 Birmingham, England, and follows the Shelby family, who lead a feared gang named the Peaky Blinders, because of their practice of sewing razor blades into the peaks of their caps. Until now, they have made money from illegal bookmaking, protection and the black market, but when a crate of guns from the local arms factory falls into his possession, Thomas Shelby recognizes an opportunity to move up in the world. As rival gangs, communist revolutionaries and IRA Fenians descend on the city in pursuit of the weapons, Winston Churchill dispatches C.I. Chester Campbell, a ruthless police chief from Belfast, to impose order on an increasingly lawless city and recover the guns. Netflix released all six episodes of the first season on Tuesday, September 30, 2014, with Season 2 launching in November 2014.

Meanwhile his own family's activities lead to escalating danger in Birmingham. in the next episode, Tommy is set on a path of deadly vengeance, responding to the Italians' actions. Meanwhile, as he makes plans for his mission on behalf of the Russians, he realizes there is a traitor in his midst.
Season 4 of PEAKY BLINDERS had its U.S. premiere on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at 3:01am ET/PT, as Netflix released the entire six-episode fourth season. The season opens in December 1925, and Tommy Shelby OBE has acquired unprecedented legitimacy. The former gangster is also a man alone, estranged from his family and focused only on business. But when he receives a mysterious letter on Christmas Eve, Tommy realizes that the Shelbys are in danger of annihilation. As the enemy closes in, Tommy flees his country house and returns to the only safe place he knows: Small Heath, Birmingham, the slum where he grew up. Facing a more determined and sophisticated threat than ever before, the Shelby family must find a way to put differences aside, work together, take up arms and fight for survival. As the Shelbys come to terms with the shocking events of Christmas Day, Tommy endeavors to unite his family. Until the current threat is dealt with, their only safe place is together in Small Heath. Johnny Dogs and Charlie set about arming the locals - everyone is now a Peaky bodyguard. Tommy enlists the help of tough Romany Gypsy Aberama Gold, who wants something unusual in return.

Season 5 finds the world thrown into turmoil by the financial crash of 1929. When Tommy Shelby MP is approached by a charismatic politician with a bold vision for Britain, he realizes that his response will impact not only the future of his family but that of the entire nation. New cast members include: Sam Claflin as Oswald Mosley, Anya Taylor-Joy as Gina Gray, Brian Gleeson as Jimmy McCavern, Neil Maskell as Winston Churchill, Kate Dickie as Mother Superior, Cosmo Jarvis as Barney and Emmett J Scanlan as Billy Grade.

Tommy sets off to North America, where the end of Prohibition brings new opportunities. But he faces new danger from an old adversary, who is finally making his move. Tommy then gets involved in a power game with fascists, freedom-fighters and Boston gangsters. As the players plan to double cross him, Tommy visits an old ally in Camden.
