Plot Synopsis
PBS ARTS FALL FESTIVAL features a range of artists and performances from nine different communities in the United States, with each event hosted by a celebrity from that locale. Full-length performances, behind-the-scenes interviews, profiles of artists and performers, and mini-documentaries of women rock-and-rollers, banjo pickers, award-winning choreographers and local art scenes are a front row seat and back stage pass to entertain. Performances include: "H.M.S. Pinafore" from the Guthrie Theater in Minnesota, hosted by Rainn Wilson; AMERICAN MASTERS "Pearl Jam Twenty" from Seattle, hosted by Oscar-winning film director Taylor Hackford; GREAT PERFORMANCES "Miami City Ballet Dances Balanchine and Tharp," hosted by Academy Award-nominated actor Andy Garcia; GIVE ME THE BANJO from the Blue Ridge Mountains, hosted by Grammy-winning singer Roseanne Cash; GREAT PERFORMANCES "Il Postino from L.A. Opera" with Placido Domingo, hosted by Linda Ronstadt; GREAT PERFORMANCES "Andrea Bocelli Live in Central Park" in New York City, hosted by Paula Zahn; and even more great programs in this performing arts series.
