Plot Synopsis

Using testimony of law enforcement officers, as well as surviving family members, PASSPORT TO MURDER chronicles the stories of American citizens who went in search of adventure around the world, but returned home in a body bag. Each one-hour episode examines the death of one U.S. citizen in a foreign climate, featuring a wide range of destinations that are popular with US travelers, each with its own special atmosphere and exoticism. In the series opener, "Nightmare in Bali," Chicago socialite Sheila von Wiese Mack is brutally murdered while on vacation in Bali. Police hunt a suspected criminal gang. And when the true killers emerge, they reveal a twisted world of greed, lies and coldblooded murder. The series also features the stories of: Linda and Gary Haas, who were driving their camper van to the Rocky Mountains when they crossed paths with escaped convicts; Mark Kilroy, a student on spring-break in Mexico who was kidnapped by a criminal drug cult; and many more Americans for whom their dream holidays turned into nightmares.

On Friday, August 19, 2016 at 10pm ET/PT, Investigation Discovery premiered the Season 1 finale of PASSPORT TO MURDER. In the season ender, "Mystery at Good Hart Cottage," when six family members are discovered brutally murdered, detectives must untangle a web of lies and ensnare a ruthless and calculating suspect.
