Plot Synopsis

This series follows Dylan Marer, one of Hollywood's leading party planners, as he creates some of the greatest parties in history, recapturing the political intrigue, decadence -- and even murder -- of an historical period. Each 60-minute episode features Dylan designing the theme, architecture, entertainment and decor for a different party: "The Queen of France," where Dylan injects a Maria-Antoinette theme into Hugh Hefner's annual Playboy Masquerade Party for 1500 guests at the Playboy Mansion, incorporating details of the queen's infamous masquerade parties at the Paris Opera two centuries ago; and "Roman Emperor," which highlights a Mid Summer Night's Dream party for 3500 guest at the Palms Casino in Las Vegas, where he draws his inspiration from Ancient Rome -- paying homage to the decadent past while enticing the crowd "to party like emperors." This two episode series had its world premiere on Nat Geo France on Sunday, February 5, 2012 at 8:40pm, and the second episode aired one week later at the same time. Between those two episodes, Nat Geo aired the U.S. premiere of the first episode on Thursday, February 9, 2012 at 8pm ET/PT, immediately followed by the world premiere of the second episode at 9pm ET/PT.
