Plot Synopsis

These people dreamed of exotic locales, sunny skies, and a new lives abroad, but their foreign dreams became nightmares when they were in the wrong place at the wrong time -- and a long way from home. This series combines home-made videos, stylized re-enactments and compelling interviews to tell the real-life stories of traumatic events, such as the owner of a successful Gambian hotel business who is jailed for a crime he did not commit and a romance in Mexico that is transformed by a child kidnapping and threats of murder. Premiered in the United States on Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at 10pm ET/PT.
