Plot Synopsis

Using recreations, authentic audio recordings and interviews with witnesses, officers, call dispatchers and, in some cases, the callers themselves, PANIC 9-1-1 chronicles real emergency calls from frantic callers as life-and-death situations unfold around them in real time. Each call is a race against time where every second counts and getting the right details is crucial, and the dispatcher is the only link between life and death. Each 60-minute episode features three 911 calls, including: a terrified single mother reporting an unknown intruder in her California home; an Illinois store manager who must choose whether to flee the scene when a lone gunman begins shooting a gun in a sporting goods store; a grandmother faces the grim possibility of using deadly force to protect herself from an intruder while she waits for Oklahoma police to arrive; and many more people who need immediate help.

PANIC 9-1-1 returned for its second season on Thursday, August 8, 2013 at 10pm ET/PT, with an episode that featured these three stories: a mother and her son hide in a closet when an intruder enters their home; a hiker is buried under a mountain of snow; two teens on spring break witness a fiery car crash.

Season 3 of PANIC 9-1-1 premiered on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at 10pm ET/PT on A&E. In the season opener, "I'm Dying," a Florida woman fights for her life when her estranged husband starts shooting at her through the front door; a young mother finds herself in a terrifying situation when her brakes stop working on a busy highway on a holiday weekend; and in Georgia, a family returns from vacation to hear a horrifying sound coming from the woods.
