Plot Synopsis

Based on the 2013 live-action film PACIFIC RIM, PACIFIC RIM: THE BLACK is a half-hour animated series that two siblings after Kaiju ravage Australia, as they pilot a Jaeger to search for their parents, encountering new creatures, seedy characters and chance allies. There was a time when Kaiju rose from the Pacific Rim only to encounter gigantic robots, Jaegers, built to fight them back. That time has passed. Now, Australia has been overrun by Kaiju, forcing the evacuation of an entire continent. Left behind, teenage siblings Taylor and Hayley embark on a desperate search for their missing parents, teaching themselves to pilot a battered, long-abandoned Jaeger to help in their quest and give them even the slightest hope of surviving. Netflix released the entire seven-episode first season of PACIFIC RIM: THE BLACK on Thursday, March 4, 2021 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT.

PACIFIC RIM: THE BLACK returned for its seven-episode second and final season on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, as Netflix released the entire new season. Brave siblings Taylor and Hayley still hope to reach the safety of Sydney aboard Atlas Destroyer, the scaled-down training Jaeger left behind when Australia was evacuated. With teenage assassin Mei and the mysterious human/kaiju hybrid bOy joining Taylor and Hayley, this makeshift family must cross a dangerous territory controlled by the bloodthirsty cult Sisters of the Kaiju. These zealots, led by the enigmatic High Priestess, are convinced that bOy is their long-awaited Messiah and will stop at nothing to indoctrinate him into their dark circle -- something Hayley would sacrifice everything to prevent.
