Plot Synopsis

Described as TOSH.0 for science nerds, this series, a user-generated pop-science show, features video clips of people doing crazy, hilarious and downright amazing things, followed by experts breaking down the science and explaining the inner workings of each eccentric experiment. From a backyard solar death ray to base jumping in wing suits and from exploding a three-ton whale to flipping over a speeding car, these ingenious stunts, antics and inventions demonstrate principles of physics, chemistry and engineering. Each one-hour episode counts down the top 20 viral videos around a single theme, including: "Homemade Heroes," highlighting people who have taken simple things at home and transformed them into something crazy, amazing and massively dangerous; "Human Guinea Pigs," featuring people who have trained tirelessly to prepare their bodies for scientific endeavors; "Natural Born Thrillers," showcasing how people demonstrate quirky and amazing powers of the natural world; and "Epic Stunts," showing people performing incredible and crazy stunts, pushing them to their limits. Almost five months after this series debuted on Discovery UK on November 28, 2012 with the title YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED, Science Channel aired the U.S. premiere of this series on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at 10pm ET/PT.

On Saturday, February 15, 2014 at 10pm ET/PT on Science, OUTRAGEOUS ACTS OF SCIENCE returned for its second season in the United States. The Season 2 premiere episode, "Kings of Carnage," featured topics like: anvil shooting; demolition fail; and jumping out of a helicopter with no parachute. The expert panel for Season 2 featured thought leaders across many disciplines of science headlined by: astrophysicist Hakeem Oluseyi; biologist Dr. Carin Bondar; and mathematician Matt Parker.

Science Channel aired the U.S. premiere of Season 3 of OUTRAGEOUS ACTS OF SCIENCE on Saturday, January 17, 2015 and Season 4 on Saturday, June 20, 2015. Hakeem Oluseyi, Debbie Berebichez, and the rest of the scientists are back to kick off 2016 in the best way possible with brand new episodes when OUTRAGEOUS ACTS OF SCIENCE returns on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 9pm ET/PT on Science Channel, immediately following an all-day marathon (6am-9pm) of encore episodes. Saturday's premiere episode (9pm), "Like a Boss," celebrates those internet legends who have beaten the competition and taken science to new heights by doing it bigger and better than the rest. These guys reveal the very best of human ingenuity and perseverance by doing it like a boss. From an Olympian cyclist showing just how much power it takes to toast a piece of bread to the bosses of amateur rocket launches, OUTRAGEOUS ACTS OF SCIENCE and its team of experts go behind the scenes of the world's most clicked viral videos to break them down and explore the science that behind the stunts millions of internet and social media users enjoy and share each with each other every day.

On Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at 9pm ET/PT, Science Channel premiered a new season of OUTRAGEOUS ACTS OF SCIENCE. The real-life scientists who uncover the principles behind the backyard experiments this season include astrophysicist Hakeem Oluseyi, physicist Debbie Berebichez, robotics engineer Eric Gradman, molecular biologist Adam Ruben, materials chemist Sujata Kundu, nuclear chemist Alistair Linsell, biologist Carin Bondar, mathematician Matt Parker, and engineer Mike North, among others. In the season opener, "Power Hungry", the featured clips include a whip cracking amateur looking to beat a word record, an explosive keg that becomes a beer fountain and ice swords that splice gourds.

Science Channel premiered the eighth season of OUTRAGEOUS ACTS OF SCIENCE on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at 9pm ET/PT. The premiere episode, "Life Hackers," looks at backyard inventors creating the ultimate life hacks. From turning a bike into a car, cola into a fire extinguisher or a jet ski into a Jetovator, these life hackers are pure genius.

Science Channel premiered a new season of OUTRAGEOUS ACTS OF SCIENCE on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at 9pm ET/PT featuring the internet's craziest homemade science stunts and experiments. In each episode, science experts break down the most clever, funniest, most daring, and bizarre clips from around the world -- all counting down to the most outrageous act! From the "modfathers" of modification to masters of mayhem to supernatural surprises, these internet sensations highlight human ingenuity as the team takes everything you knew about science and turns it inside out. Among this season's highlights are a man pulling a car with his eye sockets, a breathless dive to the bottom of the world's deepest pool, a homemade tank, the world's first skydive from a drone, and more! In the season opener, "Strangest Things," experts question reality with the most mind-melting videos they can find. They'll discover see-through animals, algae-powered motorcycles, and a human-sized chicken. It's freaky, fantastic, and will leave your head spinning.

On Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at 10pm ET/PT, The Science Channel premiered a new season of OUTRAGEOUS ACTS OF SCIENCE, putting the spotlight on the web's most ingenious, funniest, daring, outrageous and bizarre clips, while the world's best science experts try to explain exactly what is happening. Every episode focuses on a science theme and counts down to the best of the best. The premiere episode, "Quantum Leaps," looks at the internet's biggest breakthroughs, genius inventions and awesome builds that are undeniable Quantum Leaps. From robot exoskeletons, swords made with thermite to high speed mobility scooters, these masterminds are always one step ahead. Other highlights of the new season include the world's first driving dog, a breathtaking performance from an underwater band, an 8-hour wheelie on a bike, and the world's fastest talker.

On Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at 10pm ET/PT, The Science Channel premiered "Unusual Suspects," a new episode of OUTRAGEOUS ACTS OF SCIENCE that rounds up the strangest clips lurking in the shadows, embracing all things weird and wonderful. This episode reveals the crazy science behind snoring humming birds, bands performing underwater, and alligators frozen alive in ice.
