Plot Synopsis

Dr. Kara Cooney, UCLA Professor of Egyptian Art and Architecture, steps out of the classroom and travels the world to show how ancient civilizations are linked together. She'll investigate secret societies, ritual sacrifice, brutal religious edicts, and macabre burials to understand what these links say about the human instinct. Each episode begins in Egypt, where she asks a question and then goes on a global quest for answers, using expert interviews and visits to sacred sites.
