Plot Synopsis

Contestants are challenged to make a real difference in people's lives across the country -- one stranger at a time. For the first challenge in Los Angeles, Oprah Winfrey hands each contestant a sealed envelope with the name and picture of a complete stranger, and the contestants have five days to seek out this person and use their creativity to "give big" to this stranger. At the end of the episode, three judges evaluate each contestant based on their creativity, leadership, presentation and accomplishments during the task, and they eliminate one contestant. The remaining contestants travel the country -- Denver, Houston, Miami, Atlanta, New York, Chicago, and other locations -- continuing to "give big" and avoiding elimination. The last person remaining wins $1 million -- $500,000 to keep for himself (or herself) and $500,000 to use for additional gives to others. Throughout the series, celebrities appear and help, including Jennifer Aniston; John Travolta; Jada Pinkett-Smith; Natalie Cole; Donald Trump; Andre Agassi; Steffi Graf; Tony Hawk; Danica Patrick; and others.
