Plot Synopsis

Two mentors, Brent Camalich and Simone Bridges, team up with five young change makers, and together they kick off Operation Awesome: an epic road trip across the country to see the sites, meet some incredible people, team up with other young change makers, and transform communities. Their journey begins in Connecticut, and they travel to 10 cities across America to work together with local volunteers and help them launch new initiatives. Along the way, they see the sights and meet some incredible people. On this epic road trip, there's only one rule: leave each place you go better than when you got there. The five change makers are: Anna Du (15; Andover, MA), "professor" Anna Miller (13, Chesapeake Beach, MD), organizer Liam Hannon (14, Cambridge, MA), artist Michael Platt (15, Bowie, MD), and motivator Ruby Kate Chitsey (13, Harrison, AR).

On Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at 8pm ET/5pm PT, BYUtv premiered "Changemakers," the season finale of OPERATION AWESOME. The team travels to their final destination, Gaithersburg, Maryland, where they meet seven-year-old Cavanaugh, founder of the nonprofit Cool & Dope, created to end bullying and spread positivity. Cavanaugh's organization is about to lose the storage space for its pantry, so Operation Awesome steps in with a plan to help.
