Plot Synopsis

Created by Steve Martin and John Hoffman, ONLY MURDERS IN THE BUILDING is a comedic murder-mystery series that follows three strangers -- Mabel, Oliver & Charles -- who share an obsession with true crime and suddenly find themselves wrapped up in one. When a grisly death occurs inside their exclusive Upper West Side apartment building, the trio suspects murder and employs their precise knowledge of true crime to investigate the truth. As they record a podcast of their own to document the case, the three unravel the complex secrets of the building which stretch back years. Perhaps even more explosive are the lies they tell one another. Soon, the endangered trio comes to realize a killer might be living amongst them as they race to decipher the mounting clues before it's too late. Executive produced by series stars Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez, the first three episodes of ONLY MURDERS IN THE BUILDING dropped on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 on Hulu. ONLY MURDERS IN THE BUILDING made its linear television debut on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 with three consecutive episodes from 9-11pm ET/PT on ABC. New Season 1 episodes aired weekly on Tuesdays at 9pm on ABC through January 23.

The 10-episode sophomore season of ONLY MURDERS IN THE BUILDING premiered on Tuesday, June 28, 2022, as Hulu released the first two episodes of the new season. A new installment drops each Tuesday through August 23. Following the shocking death of Arconia Board President Bunny Folger, Charles, Oliver & Mabel race to unmask her killer. However, three (unfortunate) complications ensue -- the trio is publicly implicated in Bunny's homicide, they are now the subjects of a competing podcast, and they have to deal with a bunch of New York neighbors who all think they committed murder.

The 10-episode third season of ONLY MURDERS IN THE BUILDING debuted with two new episodes on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 on Hulu. A new installment dropped weekly through October 3. Season 3 finds Charles, Oliver and Mabel investigating a murder behind the scenes of a Broadway show. Ben Glenroy is a Hollywood action star whose Broadway debut is cut short by his untimely death. Aided by co-star Loretta Durkin, the trio embarks on their toughest case yet -- all while director Oliver desperately attempts to put his show back together.

The fourth season of ONLY MURDERS IN THE BUILDING debuted on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 on Hulu, which released the first of 10 new episodes. A new installment drops weekly through October 29. Season 4 follows Charles, Oliver, and Mabel, as they wrestle with the shocking events at the end of Season 3 surrounding Charles' stunt double & friend Sazz Pataki. Questioning whether Sazz or Charles was the intended victim, the trio's investigation leads them all the way to Los Angeles where a Hollywood studio is readying a film about the Only Murders podcast. As the amateur sleuths race back to New York, they embark on an even more epic journey -- traversing their building's courtyard to delve into the twisted lives of the Arconia's West Tower residents. Episodes include:

"Once Upon a Time in the West" (Tuesday, August 27, 2024): Charles, Oliver and Mabel are whisked to Los Angeles where a legendary film studio intends to adapt their podcast. However, Hollywood's glitz is overshadowed by a stunning clue about Charles' stunt double and friend Sazz Pataki.

"Gates of Heaven" (Tuesday, September 3, 2024): Mabel and Oliver begin investigating Arconia's West Tower and get trapped inside an ominous game. Meanwhile, Charles is visited by two individuals from his complex past.

"Two for the Road" (Tuesday, September 10, 2024): Charles, Oliver & Mabel begrudgingly pair off with new investigators... actors Eugene Levy, Zach Galifianakis & Eva Longoria.
