Plot Synopsis

Executive produced and narrated by Ava DuVernay, ONE PERFECT SHOT is a half-hour docuseries that celebrates iconic movie moments, with each episode featuring one acclaimed director who pulls back the curtain on their most iconic shots. Using state of the art technology, the directors literally enter each shot, walking through the scene in 360 moments that allow viewers to join an immersive exploration of moviemaking. Filmmakers share their obstacles, challenges, lessons and triumphs as they detail how they created their crowning cinematic achievements. Each helmer also presents one shot from an auteur who deeply influenced them, outlining the inspiration that catalyzed their own imagination. Inspired by a popular Twitter account of the same name, ONE PERFECT SHOT features filmmakers Patty Jenkins, Aaron Sorkin, Kasi Lemmons, Jon M. Chu, Malcolm D. Lee and Michael Mann, as well as blockbuster films including WONDER WOMAN, THE TRIAL OF THE CHICAGO 7, HARRIET, CRAZY RICH ASIANS, and GIRLS TRIP AND HEAT. The entire six-episode series dropped on Thursday, March 24, 2022 on HBO Max.
