Plot Synopsis

This half-hour, multi-camera comedy series centers on two childhood platonic friends -- lesbian Lizzie and her straight male friend, Luke -- who are now living together while trying to start a family through artificial insemination. When they were kids and both of their parents were getting divorces, Lizzy and Luke stuck together, and they've been there for each other ever since. Now, all grown up and still single, they've decided to start a family of their own through medical impregnation. Then one night, after yet another failed attempt at conception, the two head out to a bar to let off some steam, where Luke meets Prudence, a free-spirited British girl slated to go back to England in a matter of days. Soon the new couple is spending every last minute of her limited time together, and right before she's scheduled to leave, Luke announces that he and Prudence got married -- just as Lizzy discovers that she's actually pregnant. Ellen DeGeneres is an executive producer of ONE BIG HAPPY.

On Wednesday, April 28, 2015 at 9:30pm ET/PT, NBC premiered the season finale of ONE BIG HAPPY. In the season ender, "Wedlocked," Luke disappears after he learns a secret that Prudence has been keeping from everyone, leaving both their future and her immigration status in serious jeopardy. While Lizzy attempts to console Prudence and fix the situation, Luke hits the bars with Markus. And when all looks lost, Lizzy jumps in with a big, bold solution that will catch everyone by surprise.
