Plot Synopsis

Whether they're saving someone struggling in the wintery waters of Maine after their canoe overturns, tracking a bear running loose in a suburban neighborhood of Portland, or busting a night poacher who illuminates a field at night to gain an unfair advantage on wildlife, Maine's elite game warden service patrols the Pine Tree State's rugged terrain during hunting season. NORTH WOODS LAW follows this patrol unit of wardens as they risk life and limb to protect animals and serve the people of Maine. Animal Planet aired a sneak-peek episode of this series on Sunday, March 11, 2012 at 11pm ET, and five days later showed the official series premiere on Friday, March 16, 2012 at 9pm ET. NORTH WOODS LAW returned for its second season on Thursday, October 3, 2013 at 10pm ET/PT. In the Season 2 opener, the Maine Wardens searched under the ice of a frozen lake for the victims of the worst snowmobile accident in recent history. Then, with the spring thaw bringing all sorts or nuisance animal encounters including skunks and bears, McCabe was staking out a wanted man. Animal Planet debuted the third season of NORTH WOODS LAW on Sunday, October 5, 2014 from 9-11pm ET/PT. In the first episode, "Outfoxed," the start of the busy tourist season has the wardens out in full force. A dangerous fox is on the loose in a crowded campground-the wardens need to find it fast. An ATV rider appears to have been partying too hard and nearly causes a wipe out. Then in the night's second new episode, "Man vs. Animal," all kinds of wildlife are emerging as Winter melts into Spring -- from baby raccoons to hungry black bears. A routine littering summons turns into a face off with a rabid pitbull. Some new evidence comes to light to revive an old deer poaching case.

The 11-episode seventh season of NORTH WOODS LAW premiered on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at 9pm ET/PT on Animal Planet. The Maine Warden Service is back on patrol throughout the 18 million acres of rugged woods of the Pine Tree State on NORTH WOODS LAW. As one of the nation's original guardians of the great outdoors, there isn't much this group hasn't seen, and this season is no different. The game wardens snare a pair of brothers who are aiming to poach deer, scramble to save a tangled great blue heron, diffuse a volatile situation when a hunting family gets confrontational, and bring closure to one of the most confounding mysteries in Maine Warden Service history. With people and wildlife increasingly sharing territory, the game wardens must work together to ensure all laws are obeyed. In the season opener, "Long Shot," Simmons, Parker and Robertson catch sportsmen who fired from inside their truck. Spahr leads the search for a missing elderly woman in York County. The dive team is mustered to search for two duck hunters presumed drowned in the Sebasticook River.

Season 10 of NORTH WOODS LAW premiered on Sunday, January 7, 2018 at 9pm ET/PT on Animal Planet. In the season opener, "Out of Control," Officers Boudreau and Hannett pursue a pair of intoxicated, out of control, teenage dirt bikers. Officer Bronson investigates a night-hunting case involving an animal he's never dealt with. And Officer Lucas gets creative trying to rescue a baby bird.

NORTH WOODS LAW returned for its fifteenth season on Sunday, October 11, 2020 at 9pm ET/PT on Animal Planet. In the season opener, "Mountaintop Mystery," when a hiker finds a severed finger, Officer Hannett and NH State Police team up to investigate. A bear hunter makes a surprising confession to Officer Masucci. And, Officer Towne's patrol is interrupted by a call from his son's school principal.
