Plot Synopsis
90 DAY FIANCE is a one-hour reality series that follows four couples, each with the bride-to-be visiting the United States on a 90-day fiance visa, as the pairs decide whether or not to get married before their K-1 visa expires and the women must return home. In addition to living together for the first time, these couples must overcome language barriers, culture shock, and the stigma of being thought of as a mail-order bride. Taking the life-altering chance on a cross-border romance, these foreign brides-to-be and their potential husbands discover if their happily ever after is meant to be.
The couples in Season 1 were: Alan (from Los Angeles, CA) and Kirlyam (from Brazil), who met while he was on a religious mission in Brazil and have seen each other only a few times since; Louis (from Indianapolis, IL) & Aya (from Philippines), who met online, becoming engaged when Louis proposed on a 7-day trip to the Philippines for their first face-to-face meeting; Mike (from Cleveland, OH) & Aziza (from Russia), who met on an international language learning website, where Mike wanted to learn Russian for an upcoming trip while Aziza wanted to learn English; and Russ (from Owasso, OK) & Paola (from Colombia), who met when Russ moved to Colombia for work and has returned back home with his fiance, as she lives in his parents' house while they decide their future. Plus, TLC.com featured an additional couple: Len (from Scottsdale, AZ) & Alina (from Ukraine), who met when Len traveled to the Ukraine and have since communicated regularly online.
90 DAY FIANCE returned for its 10-episode second season on Sunday, October 19, 2014 at 9pm ET/PT on TLC. In Season 2, six new couples decide to take a chance on love and bring their spouses-to-be stateside by using a special K-1 visa that requires them to get married at the end of only 90 days...or else return to their home countries. The couples featured in Season 2 are: Brett (Snohomish, WA) & Daya (from the Philippines), who met online while Brett was searching for a Filipino woman with strong family values; Chelsea (from Galesburg, IL) & Yamir (from Managua, Nicaragua), who met during a concert of his Nicaraguan boyband, Myla Vox; Danielle (Norwalk, OH) & Mohamed (from Tunis, Tunisia), who met in an international chatroom and dated online before Danielle made the leap of faith to meet Mohamed in person; Danny (Norristown, PA) & Amy (from Cape Town, South Africa), who were both studying abroad at a bible college in Sydney, Australia; Jason (Spring Hills, FL) & Cassia (from Curitiba, Brazil), who met when Jason travelled to Brazil, where he was immediately awestruck by Cassia; and Justin (San Jose, CA) & Evelin (from Santiago de Cali, Columbia) who met at a rugby world game match in Santiago de Cali, Columbia.
