Plot Synopsis

Created by Shawn Ryan and based on Matthew Quirk's 2019 novel of the same name, THE NIGHT AGENT is a one-hour drama series that centers on Peter Sutherland, a low level FBI Agent, who works in the basement of the White House, manning a phone that never rings -- until the night that it does. When a call comes in from a terrified civilian, Rose Larkin, Peter must protect Rose and work with her to uncover the conspiracy that threatens to rock the nation. As Peter investigates, he soon finds himself in a fast moving and dangerous conspiracy that ultimately leads all the way to the Oval Office. All 10 episodes of THE NIGHT AGENT's first season dropped on Thursday, March 23, 2023 on Netflix.

The second season of THE NIGHT AGENT debuted on Thursday, January 23, 2025 on Netflix, which released all 10 episodes of the new season. The hunt for a CIA agent accused of leaking secrets puts Peter and Rose in the crosshairs of a ruthless intelligence broker and a deadly war criminal. Season 1 opens with Peter sharing a romantic stroll with someone else: newcomer Alice. But things aren't what they seem. Alice isn't Peter's love interest. She's his new mentor and partner in the high stakes Night Agent program. And the dangers ahead include everything from a possible mole in Night Action to experimental weapons in the wrong hands--and Peter can't trust anyone in these dire new circumstances.
