Plot Synopsis
NEW YEAR'S ROCKIN' EVE is an annual special, broadcast on New Year's Eve, ringing in the new year with popular musical acts. This special first aired on Sunday, December 31, 1972 on NBC at 11:30pm with much of the show taped on the Queen Mary in Long Beach, CA, with performances by: headliner Three Dog Night; Blood, Sweat and Tears; Mary Travers; Al Green; and Billy Preston. The following year, still originating (via tape) from the Queen Mary in Long Beach with some live footage of the celebration in New York's Times Square, performances included: George Carlin; Billy Preston; Linda Ronstadt; the Tower of Power; and the Pointer Sisters. In its third year, ROCKIN' EVE switched to ABC, where it has aired ever since.

Ryan Seacrest hosts DICK CLARK'S NEW YEAR'S ROCKIN' EVE WITH RYAN SEACREST 2024 with Rita Ora in Times Square, Jeannie Mai hosting in Hollywood, and Dayanara Torres as host in Puerto Rico. This program marks the 52nd installment of America's biggest celebration of the year and includes 5-1/2 hours of special performances and reports on New Year's festivities from around the globe.
The festivities kick off in primetime from 8-10pm ET (live)/PT (tape) on ABC, featuring live performances from New York's Times Square, as well as multiple performances from the celebrations in Los Angeles and Puerto Rico. The party continues from 10:30pm - 1:09am ET (live)/PT (tape) with the final countdown in Times Square. Finally, the night wraps up from 1:09 - 2:15am ET (live)/PT (tape) with additional performances from Los Angeles.
New York: In his 19th year as host of America's most-watched New Year's Eve special, Ryan Seacrest will lead the traditional countdown with co-host and global superstar Rita Ora live from Times Square, welcoming an all-star lineup of artists, including: LL COOL J featuring DJ Z-Trip, Megan Thee Stallion, Jelly Roll, Sabrina Carpenter and Tyla.
Los Angeles: Jeannie Mai leads the Hollywood festivities, which will feature a chart-topping roster of artists: Aqua, Doechii, Ellie Goulding, Green Day, Janelle Monae, Loud Luxury x Two Friends with Bebe Rexha, Ludacris, Nile Rodgers & CHIC, Paul Russell, Renee Rapp with Coco Jones and Thirty Seconds to Mars.
Puerto Rico: Dayanara Torres hosts from Puerto Rico, where Ivy Queen's reggaeton will perform from the grounds of the Puerto Rico Convention Center and DISTRITO T-Mobile.
Las Vegas: Post Malone will rock the stage from the brand-new Fontainebleau Hotel in Las Vegas, where he will perform "Chemical."
Miami Beach: Cardi B will perform poolside from Fontainebleau Miami Beach.
South Korea: In the show's first-ever performance from South Korea, K-Pop group NewJean will perform "Super Shy" and "ETA."
The program is also introducing a new vertical of comedic show content with Gabriel "Fluffy" Iglesias, Matt Friend, Ms. Pat and Sebastian Maniscalco joining the show for hilarious commentary on the past year.
This year marks the first-ever live broadcast radio simulcast of "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2024" airing across 150 iHeartRadio stations nationwide including Z100 New York, KIIS-FM Los Angeles, KISS FM Chicago, Q102 Philly, 102.9 Dallas, and more. The show will also be available on the iHeartRadio app.
