Plot Synopsis
The annual NBA AWARDS is a live, televised event that honors players and coaches from the National Basketball Association for their performances during the season that just concluded. Awards presented during the show include: Most Valuable Player; Rookie of the Year; Sixth Man Award; Defensive Player of the Year; Sportsmanship Award; Most Improved Player; Teammate of the Year Award; and Coach of the Year. Plus, the program also features the recipients of the Sager Strong Award, the Lifetime Achievement Award, and multiple fan-voted awards.
Hosted by Drake from Basketball City at Pier 36 in New York City, the inaugural NBA AWARDS debuted on Monday, June 26, 2017 at 9pm ET (live) on TNT. In addition to a performance by Nicki Minaj, the event also featured Monty Williams receiving the first-ever Sager Strong Award and Bill Russell being honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award. Plus, the following celebrities were scheduled to present: Chadwick Boseman, Nick Cannon, Vince Carter, Kevin Garnett, Bryshere Y. Gray, Grant Hill, Monica, Dirk Nowitzki, Candace Parker, Paul Pierce, Jada Pinkett-Smith, Jussie Smollett, John Wall and Jesse Williams.

The 2018 NBA AWARDS, hosted by Anthony Anderson, premiered on Monday, June 25, 2018 at 9pm ET (live) on TNT, featuring a performance by Grammy-nominated rapper Travis Scott. Presenters include Charles Barkley, DJ Khaled, Shaquille O'Neal, Jesse Williams, Snoop Dogg, Niecy Nash, Ken Jeong and Adrienne Houghton. Plus, Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famer Oscar Robertson receives the Lifetime Achievement Award and Hall of Famer Dikembe Mutombo is honored with the Sager Strong Award.
