Plot Synopsis

In January or February each year since 1952 -- except for 1999, when the NBA ALL-STAR GAME was canceled because of the lockout -- the National Basketball Association (NBA) holds its annual All-Star game, featuring the top players from the Western and Eastern Conferences playing against each other. Seven years after the inaugural event, NBC aired the the game on Friday, January 23, at 10pm ET, the first time the game was nationally televised. Four years, later, after not being on national TV, the game was syndicated from 1963 - 1967, airing during primetime. In 1968, ABC first aired the game, and continued to present the NBA ALL-STAR GAME on Tuesday evenings through 1973. For the next year, the game switched networks to CBS, where it continued on Tuesday nights for only three more years. In 1977, CBS switched the game to Sunday afternoons through 1990, when NBC continued to air the game Sunday mid-day until 1992. In 1993, NBC moved the games to early primetime on Sundays, and continued to telecast them on that day and time until 2002. Since 2003, TNT has annually presented the game on Sunday evenings.

TNT broadcast the 2024 ALL-STAR GAME, live from Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, IN at 8pm ET/5pm PT on Sunday, February 18, 2024, with an alternate broadcasat of the game on sister stations TBS and truTV.

The TNT telecast features Brian Anderson returning as the play-by-play voice, alongside Reggie Miller (his 17th time providing NBA All-Star Game analysis) and Candace Parker, making her second NBA All-Star Game commentating appearance. Allie LaForce provides sideline reporting throughout the telecast, her fourth time in that role.

Alongside the traditional telecast, fans will also be able to tune into truTV and B/R Sports on Max for the NBA All-Star Game ALTCAST presented by Jordan Brand, hosted by Taylor Rooks alongside Draymond Green and Charles Barkley sharing their opinions and insights like only they can. Jamal Crawford will also contribute as a roaming reporter from the sidelines, with additional special guests joining throughout.
