Plot Synopsis

Written and executive produced by Ava DuVernay and Jill Blankenship, NAOMI is a one-hour drama series that follows the journey of cool, confident, comic book-loving teen Naomi, as she pursues her hidden destiny. When a supernatural event shakes her hometown of Port Oswego to the core, Naomi sets out to uncover its origins, with a little help from her fiercely loyal best friend Annabelle. She also has the support of her adoptive, doting parents, veteran military officer Greg and linguistics teacher Jennifer. After an encounter with Zumbado, the mysterious owner of a used car lot, leaves her shaken, Naomi turns to tattoo parlor owner Dee, who becomes her reluctant mentor. While unfolding the mystery about herself, Naomi also effortlessly navigates her high school friendships with kids on the military base as well as well as local townies, including ex-boyfriend and high school jock Nathan; Annabelle's longtime, loyal boyfriend Jacob; proud townie Anthony; and fellow comic book enthusiast Lourdes, who works in a vintage collectible shop. As Naomi journeys to the heights of the multiverse in search of answers, what she discovers challenges everything people believe about heroes.

On Tuesday, May 10, 2022 from 8-10pm ET/PT, The CW premiered the series finale of NAOMI, debuting back-to-back new episodes:

"Ready or Not" (8pm): In the first episode of the two-part season finale, after having visions from her brief time on Earth-29, Naomi seeks the advice of her protectors -- Dee, Zumbado, Greg, Jen and Akira (guest star Stephanie March) - but no one can agree on a plan...and Naomi feels sidelined in decisions about her own future. After Naomi receives a special gift from Akira, she sets off on a road trip with Annabelle in search of a specific place from a new vision...but something is tracking them closely. Meanwhile, Anthony's attempt to get Naomi's attention by revisiting the "Superman stunt" results in an unlikely alliance with Lourdes...but danger looms the closer they get to the truth. Carl Seaton directed the episode written by Jill Blankenship.

"Who Am I?" (9pm): In the second hour of an epic two-part season finale, Naomi must make a decision to protect those she loves most, but in the end, Naomi needs those closest to her to battle a powerful being that has been hunting her since birth. And while everyone has an opinion about what Naomi's future should be, her greatest power will manifest only when she stops believing everything she once thought to be true...and chooses her own destiny.
