Plot Synopsis
Based on Umberto Eco's novel of the same name, THE NAME OF THE ROSE is a one-hour series set in 1327 Italy that follows the Franciscan monk William of Baskerville and his novice Adso von Melk as they arrive at a secluded monastery in the Alps. There they become witnesses to a series of mysterious murders. While Baskerville and Melk investigate and search for the killer, they are hunted themselves by the merciless inquisitor Bernard Gui, who prosecutes those who criticize the pope. THE NAME OF THE ROSE had its U.S. premiere on Thursday, May 23, 2019 from 10pm-Midnight ET/PT, as SundanceTV debuted the first two episodes of this limited series.

On Thursday, June 13, 2019 from 10pm-Midnight ET/PT, SundanceTV premiered the season finale of THE NAME OF THE ROSE. In the finale, under Bernard Gui's command, a trial against Remigio begins and he is betrayed by a close friend. Adso and William enter the library to solve the case, but they face a much bigger catastrophe.
