Plot Synopsis

Hosted and executive produced by Soledad O'Brien, MYSTERIES & SCANDALS is a one-hour docuseries that investigates some of the most legendary and intriguing crimes, murders, and scandals that shook the nation and impacted pop culture. The series features notorious true crime stories with O'Brien pulling back the curtain on a wide range of shocking cases, giving viewers exclusive access to family members, friends, witnesses, detectives and jury members directly impacted and involved in each circumstance. Using first-hand accounts, re-enactments and archival footage, O'Brien explores celebrity tragedies such as Bobbi Kristina Brown and Whitney Houston's disturbing parallel deaths, the mysterious demise of both Michael Jackson and Anna Nicole Smith and the crimes and punishment of O.J. Simpson. Additionally, Soledad takes a deep dive into the Wonderland Murders, notorious serial killers of the '80s such as Richard Ramirez and Aileen Wuornos, the odd and captivating Slenderman Attacks, and more. In the series opener, "OJ Simpson: The Crimes and Punishment," O.J. Simpson, who was acquitted of double murder, sees his luck run out after a bizarre robbery in Las Vegas that was caught on tape.

On Friday, May 3, 2019 at 9pm ET/PT, Oxygen began airing repeats of the series, using the title MURDERS, MYSTERIES & SCANDALS for the first time, starting with the "Christa Helm: A Hollywood Murder" episode.
