Plot Synopsis

Created, directed, executive produced and hosted by Justin Baldoni, MY LAST DAYS is a three-night special that features the stories of six real-life superheroes -- young people with terminal illnesses who remind viewers that having a limited amount of time doesn't mean they can't make a positive impact on the world. Rainn Wilson is also an executive producer through his production company, SoulPancake. The inspiring people featured in MY LAST DAYS include:

Claire Wineland, from Venice Beach, CA, a 19-year-old with cystic fibrosis, who founded Claire's Place Foundation, Inc., a non-profit providing support to the children and families affected by cystic fibrosis. Already a best-selling author and a TEDx speaker, Claire is a model of inspiration for others who live with the disease.

"Darth Vader," of Canandaigua, NY, who has been battling leukemia for the last 14 years and has still managed to complete more than 50 Tough Mudder competitions, as well as 37 half marathons. With 13 surgeries as part of his history, Darth wants only to be defined by his hard work, sacrifice and adaptability.

Kat Lazo, a 25-year-old self-described "proud lesbian" from Las Vegas, NV, who loves traveling, Beyonce, and most of all, delicious food. But Kat has a form of stomach cancer that keeps her from enjoying her favorite foods. Through her determination to live life colorfully despite a few setbacks, she consistently inspires people with her vibrant personality and zest for life.

Isabel Bueso, of Concord, CA, an aspiring sociologist and a romantic at heart, loves everything from dancing to traveling. Born with a very rare medical condition named Mucopolysaccharidosis VI (MPS VI), Isabel was raised knowing she would not live past twenty. Isabel, now 21, continues to research MPS VI, and regularly organizes events to build awareness.

Lifelong gospel music fan Kendrick David Evans, 25, from Tallahassee, FL, who started singing publicly at age eight, and by age nine had created his own gospel group. In 2012, Kendrick was diagnosed with a rare form of sleep apnea and has been given approximately three more years to live. But Kendrick won't give up before he completes his fourth album and puts on a huge gospel concert with some of his favorite artists.

Thirty-five year-old Jess Oldwyn, from Friday Harbor, WA, who has been diagnosed with brain cancer, and has had three brain surgeries that have at times left her unable to speak and unable to move her right side. Jess's love for her husband and her determination to find a treatment that will work keeps her going.




A new season of MY LAST DAYS is a three-part event, with one-hour episodes debuting at 8pm ET/PT on The CW on consecutive Fridays: May 25, June 1 & June 8.The five inspiring people featured in Season 2 of MY LAST DAYS include:

- Marinda Davis is a choreographer and master teacher dedicated to opening hearts and breaking barriers through dance. Struggling since childhood with a range of unidentified health issues, Marinda was diagnosed with seven autoimmune diseases and told that she wouldn't live past the age of forty. But Marinda is much more than the sum of her illnesses. A dancer from the moment she tried on her first pair of ballet slippers, she's danced professionally for Sting and 98 Degrees, and choreographed for some of the top studios and schools around the world. And while Marinda can't physically dance anymore, she's channeled her passion into a spectacular contemporary dance show entitled UNbreakable. Loosely based on the Kubler-Ross model of the five stages of grief, UNbreakable tells the story of Marinda's emotional and physical journey with illness, and highlights the resilience of the human spirit.

- Anthony Carbajal is a passionate street photographer who's now unable to even lift his camera. Diagnosed with ALS at twenty-six, Anthony learned that the nerve cells in his brain and spinal cord were slowly dying and would eventually resulting in complete paralysis. But despite his diagnosis, Anthony was determined to find a way to keep enjoying his love of photography. With the help of friends and family, Anthony developed a unique mount on the armrest of his wheelchair that could enable him to take photos on the move, transforming his wheelchair from a symbol of his limitations into a way of connecting with people and destroying social boundaries. In 2013, Anthony made a YouTube video for the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge that went viral overnight with 17 million views, resulting in over six million dollars being donated in his name to ALS research. At his core, Anthony believes that while ALS is stealing his strength, it's not stealing his happiness, a sentiment he loves sharing with his family, friends and subjects in front of the lens.

- Bob Charland is a real life superhero with a heart of gold. At forty-four years old, Bob's living with a neurodegenerative brain disease caused by injuries he sustained working a second job as a bouncer and bodyguard. And while Bob's days are numbered, all he wants to do is give back to the community that's always supported him. Soon after his terminal diagnosis, Bob started Pedal Thru Youth, a non-profit that fixes old bicycles and donates them to underprivileged youth. An auto mechanic for the past twenty years, Bob personally restores bicycles late into the evening after his day job, tightening wheels, adjusting seats and positioning handlebars. What started as a passion project has mushroomed into a community phenomenon, resulting in hundreds of bicycles donated, even earning Bob the nickname "The Bike Guy." Bob's ultimate goal is to promote positivity in the lives children by encouraging them to put down their phones, leave the couch, and get outside.

- Ellie Boloori Oben is a mother, and community leader who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2012. As a lifelong Baha'i, Ellie took solace in her faith as the disease progressed, believing cancer was a reminder that the impermanence of life is what truly gives it meaning. Ellie met her illness with the same fighting spirit she carried throughout her life, with only one goal in mind - living as long as possible so she could be there for her young son Jalen, the light of her life. After being given only two weeks to live, Ellie's final wish was to host a celebration of life so she could surround herself with friends and family and say goodbye with a smile. Ellie's ultimate hope is that all people can live happily, joyfully, and kindly.

- Diane Nguyen is a twenty-six year old turtle aficionado whose quirky sense of humor and tenacity for life have given her the strength to surpass every doctor's prognosis. Living in Arizona with her husband, Long, and two turtles, Mac and Cheese, Diane was diagnosed with terminal leukemia in 2012 and given only eight months to live. But instead of worrying about what may be to come, Diane has focused on positivity and humor, seeking to transform something ugly into something beautiful. Diane is all about celebrating the little moments that matter most, and cherishing every minute she has left with the love of her life.




On Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at 8pm ET/PT, The CW premiered a new season of MY LAST DAYS. This cycle includes a special round-table conversation with the cast-members and Baldoni as they watch their episodes for the first time, and explore topics such as joy, mortality, love etc. These new episodes profile the following stories:

- Jessica Stansell-Aiyegbusi: A childhood spent in the foster care system made Jessica determined to be the parent she never had, to as many kids as she could. This meant mothering her own five biological children and serving as a mother figure to the countless kids, teens, and adults she befriended during her life. Jessica's journey took a sudden turn when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. While she underwent a double mastectomy, the cancer had already spread through much of her body. The prognosis was terminal, but facing death only strengthened Jessica's enduring message that the key to life is love.

- Travis Flores: Travis Flores is a 26-year-old actor, activist, and children's book author who was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis when he was four months old. Travis' family was told their baby had five years to live. But with a dedicated medical team and a positive spirit that endures today, Travis defied the odds. At age 12, he began working with illustrator Michelle Ciappa on his children's book, The Spider Who Never Gave Up. The book was published in 2004, when Travis was thirteen. To date, Travis has helped to raise over half a million dollars for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Most recently, he started the #YellowHeartSquad, a social movement and support network that uses the hashtag to connect people from around the world and help them find inner happiness.

- Chanel White: Only 19 years old, and in the midst of planning her wedding, Chanel White started noticing odd pains in her body. She shrugged them off as side effects of wedding stress, but her perfect day came and went, and her honeymoon was plagued by horrible illness. Chanel was soon diagnosed with severe scleroderma, systemic lupus, polymyositis, and mixed connective tissue disease. After years of living with an aggressive illness and eating with a feeding tube, Chanel became a candidate for a bone marrow transplant clinical trial. In 2017, she received a successful transplant. She is now enjoying her "bonus life," as Chanel and her husband refers to it. Her medical journey blog can be found at A Day In The Life of A Tube Fed Wife.

- Shannon Sylvain: After being diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer at age 31, Shannon created Brown Sugar Rehab. Through research conducted by herself and her physician, Shannon learned that many - if not all - cancers breed and flourish in sugar-rich environments. She also discovered that people of color are affected by cancer at higher rates due to decreased access to financial resources and quality doctors. Her organization promotes education on excessive sugar consumption, preventative health strategies and also aims to become a financial resource for those in need of testing.

- David Weinlick: David Weinlick and Elizabeth Runze were strangers when they said "I do" in front of thousands of shoppers - and in the national spotlight - at the Mall of America in June of 1998. The couple called it "our great love story." Before they met, David had tasked his friends and family with finding him the perfect bride. After 19 years of marriage and four children, it's obvious that Elizabeth, "Bethy," was the right choice. Sadly, this tale was in time upended by illness, after David was diagnosed with terminal and inoperable stage IV colon cancer. The Weinlicks filled their final chapter together with family gatherings, a high school reunion, reading books and binge-watching "The West Wing." It was all the ordinary stuff of life after their more unusual wedding.

On Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at 8pm ET/PT, The CW premiered the season finale of MY LAST DAYS. The season ender, "Dave & Cast Member Conversation," tells the story of David Weinlick, followed by all cast members discussing the just-completed season.
