Plot Synopsis

Two strangers -- an elementary school teacher Randi Coy and Steve Williams -- were told they could each win $250,000 for themselves and another $250,000 for their families. All they had to do was to convince their families about the reality of their unexpected -- and fake -- engagement and get them all to attend their wedding, which they planned to be only 12 days after announcing their engagement to their families. But there was a twist -- Steve Williams was being played by an actor, Steven W. Bailey, and his family was all played by professional actors, too. Plus, he wasn't trying to win the money for himself; he was trying to make the situation as uncomfortable and difficult as possible for Randi and the rest of the Coy family. The rude and crude "Steve Williams" truly lived up to the title of the program. Randi somehow convinces her entire family to attend the wedding ceremony -- despite their objections and protests -- and she even says "I do" on the altar. When it was time for "Steve Williams" to say his vows, he instead told everyone about the premise of the program. Randi was awarded $500,000 and $100,000 each for her father, mother and three siblings.
