Plot Synopsis

Solving murders inside the Amish community is unlike solving any other kind of criminal case. These closed communities are pious, principled and notoriously distrustful of the outside world. MURDER IN AMISH COUNTRY is a three-part documentary series that uncovers some of the most heinous crimes committed by seemingly moral subjects and reveals that what happens in the dark eventually comes to light. Investigation Discovery premiered three back-to-back episodes on the same night: Friday, October 4, 2019 from 8-11pm ET/PT:

"Twisted Confession" (8pm): Anna Borntreger has been dead for 10 years, so when her husband, an Amish minister, suddenly tells police he murdered her they don't know what to make of his confession. How far is this conflicted Amish widower willing to go to get the power...and the woman he craves?

"The Amish Serial Killer" (9pm): When the body of a 9-year-old boy is found by the side of a rural highway it takes police two years to identify him. The mystery leads police on a chilling odyssey into a secretive community and hot on the trail of an Amish serial killer.

"The Amish Stud" (10pm): When a young Amish wife is found murdered in her bed, police uncover a dark world they never imagine existed. How could a man in a devoutly religious community become a sexual lothario, and how far will he go to get what he wants?
