Plot Synopsis

MURDER CHOSE ME is a one-hour series that allows retired homicide detective Rod Demery to reflect on his career catching criminals who were running loose on the streets of Shreveport, Louisiana. With 15 years of experience working homicide and a deeply personal connection to crime -- his mother was murdered when he was three years old -- Demery served in the violent crimes unit with an unprecedented 100% confession and solve rate as lead investigator. Each episode highlights a different twisted murder case in one of the most dangerous cities in America. On Sunday, January 1, 2017 at 8pm ET/PT, Investigation Discovery premiered a sneak-peek episode of MURDER CHOSE ME, more than one month before the official series debut on Wednesday, February 15 at 10pm. In the sneak-peek episode, " Something in the Water," the lifeless body of a young mother-to-be is dumped in the shallow waters of a secluded fishing pond. The marshy crime scene offers few clues, but the case heats up when Detective Rod Demery learns of a frightening secret that was kept from police. Then, in the season opener (Feb 15), "The Vanishing Babysitter," 15-year-old Elizabeth Ennen was last seen when a friend dropped her off at home. Her distraught mother Virginia says she never walked through the door. Police are baffled until they uncover a piece of CCTV that turns the case in an unexpected direction.

The 10-episode second season of MURDER CHOSE ME premiered on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at 10pm ET/PT on Investigation Discovery, with retired homicide detective Rod Demery for Season 2. In the season opener, "Bloodbath in the Bottoms," the bullet-ridden bodies of three friends are discovered in a car abandoned in Shreveport's most notorious neighborhood. Demery must venture deep into the city's seedy underbelly to catch a killer with an inscrutable motive and an evil disposition.

Season 3 of MURDER CHOSE ME premiered on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at 9pm ET/PT on Investigation Discovery. In the season opener, "Road to Ruin," a hard-working family man is gunned down while doing a favor for a friend. As Demery searches for answers, he's confronted with a name from his past, and an all too familiar tragedy. When more blood is spilled, Demery is pushed to his breaking point.
